An environment is a physical or theoretical boundary on a system. The Earth's atmosphere, water systems, soil systems, weather systems and/or animal/plant species are sometimes lumped into a generic concept and referred as "The Environment", commonly used by "Environmentalists" in the Environmental Movement and used against major companies who pollute as a consequence of their operation or governments who ignore or relax Environmental Laws.

Environmental Movement

The Environmental Movement started as a response to the increased number (and magnitude of) impacts on the environment by the major corporations and production process in general as the Industrial Revolution[1] began to wind down into the [2]. The Environmental Movement tends to put humanity, big government and/or big business at fault for the exploitation of what the movement views as "Earth's extremely limited resources".
