International Business Machines (commonly abbreviated & trademarked as IBM) is the world's leading IT solutions provider, and has one of the longest most illustrious and perhaps even controversial histories of all the computer manufacturing giants.

Laptops

In 2004, IBM spun off their popular IBM ThinkPad line of laptops and all related hardware manufacturing capabilities to Lenovo computers inc. of China.

Servers

They continue to sell high-performance enterprise-grade servers along with consulting, customer support packages and other related solutions as part of their core revenue.

WebSphere

Websphere Application Server (commonly abbreviated as WAS or simply WebSphere) is IBM's leading software-based application server platform.

Integration Developer

Websphere Integration Developer (WID) is an business process modeling (BPEL), ESB routing, SOA and Web Service orchestration tool designed for creating visual representation of data inputs and outputs between disparate systems, applications and engines for the purpose of accomplishing specific integration tasks. It is described by IBM as the "user-friendly authoring environment for end-to-end integration in your SOA".

Services

Watson

Watson is an AI and Question Answering (QA) computer system capable of answering questions posed in natural language, developed as a part of IBM's DeepQA project.

BlueMix

BlueMix is IBM's Cloud Computing (hosting) offering and IoT platform for designing, developing and deploying code quickly from the browser. It also provides some useful web service integrations. It is also tightly integrated to Watson and other IBM web services.

RedHat

IBM announced it is acquiring RedHat in October, 2018.[9][10] The acquisition will likely lead to some product line integrations such as IBM CloudMix/BlueMix to RedHat OpenShift, IBM Watson to RedHat/jBoss Drools Rules Engine, possible phasing out or integration of previously competing J2EE web application server product-line’s in IBM’s WAS & RedHat’s JBoss/Wildfly, or any number of other strategic integrations or phasing out of competing products/brands.
