Internet Protocol (commonly abbreviated as IP; as is the term Intellectual Property, with which this abbreviation is often confused) is the underlying protocol for sending and receiving information electronically over the global network commonly referred to as the Internet.
Subnetwork
A subnetwork exists to dynamically assign internal IP addresses within an organization (i.e. business, corporation, virtual organiation, etc).[1]
