Skype is a videoconferencing solution which allows a person to make calls from a PC or other internet-capable electronic device to another PC or internet-capable electronic device, or, to a regular telephone (landline or ).

Skype Credits

Skype Credits allow you to call from and to mobiles and landlines (from your PC, mobile, VoIP phone or any of the other Skype platforms[1]), to sending texts and using WiFi hotspots (otherwise protected or behind a paywall, such as Airport WiFI, BOINGO Hotspots, etc).

SkypeOUT (also known as Skype Unlimited or "Skype Monthly") also offers an Unlimited Monthly subscription plan, where you can make an unlimited number of calls to landlines and mobile phones (and as always, Skype-to-Skype continues to be free for an unlimited number of calls).[2][3]

Skype PRO

Skype PRO offers:

  1. Free calls to any phone within the US and Canada
  2. Save up to 60% on a personal online number ( SkypeIN)
  3. Call transfer (Transfer calls to Skype contacts, phones or cell phones)
  4. Skype To Go (International calls from your cell phone at local rates)
  5. Voicemail (with email delivery)
  6. No connection fees for physical VoIP phones and free app downloads on all platforms

SkypeIN allows users to purchase (or rent, as the number is only leased on an annual or quarterly basis, not owner perpetually) a telephone number similar to what is available when registering a landline with a traditional TelCo. [4]

SkypeIN Forwarding

SkypeIN Forwarding allows users in countries not yet supported by SkypeIN officially, to have numbers within their own countries or regions (i.e. states/provinces/prefectures/cities/towns) registered, and their SkypeIN number forwarded to that local number. This allows callers to your SkypeIN number to pay local rates rather than long-distance when calling you; using SkypeIN Forwarding in combination with Skype Unlimited would also allow you to place local calls in your own city/region without those calls being charged as long-distance calls.

Skype uses the services above to charge customers for usage through a combination Subscriptions (Unlimited/PRO/Business accounts), Pay-Per-Use (Credits), yearly rental of phone numbers in any of the supported countries (SkypeIN) and sales of physical phone units with Skype VoIP technology embedded within the hardware. In addition, they also run a limited number of Ads from certified partners or advertisers within the Skype client software (both mobile and desktop).

Skype Manager

Skype Manager is a web-based management tool that lets you centrally manage Skype in your business or for your family.

Skype Connect

Skype Connect provides VoIP service for connecting to a PBX or calling to landlines from Skype backend, by-passing typical Skype call which would to a Skype client's logged in account/username. By adding Skype Connect to your existing SIP-enabled PBX, your business can save on communication costs with little or no additional upgrades required. With Skype Connect, your business can make great quality, low-cost, high-value Skype calls and receive calls from your customers using your desk phones.

Skype Buttons

Customers can also contact your business for free by using Skype through Skype Buttons, by calling the Skype business accounts associated with your SIP-enabled PBX, and by dialing any Skype Numbers you may have purchased.
