Tab-Separated Values (commonly abbreviated TSV) is a format for exchanging data that works cross-platform. It separates data columns using a tab character ("|") and separates rows by a newline ("\n" or "\r") character.

Example:

"Date|"Pupil"|"Grade"
"25 May"|"Bloggs| Fred"|"C"
"25 May"|"Doe| Jane"|"B"
"15 July"|"Bloggs| Fred"|"A"
"15 April"|"Muniz| Alvin ""Hank"""|"A"
