Content
From BC$ MobileTV Wiki
When talking about content in regards to the web, people usually mean one of the 4 main content types:
- Text (could be plain text snippets, Email/SMS messages, Blog entries, News Articles, Hypertext or text with links to other resources, Metadata extracted from Websites/Apps/Services, captions on an image, ClosedCaptions for the hearing impaired, Subtitles for language translations, Transcripts of Audio & Video, etc...)
- Images (images are photographs, pictures, drawings/sketches, comics/strips, paintings, or digital art in any number of formats, they may also even include short animated images without sound such as the popularized “animated GIF” format)
- Audio (typically thought of as music, but may also include audiobooks, podcasts, radio archives/live programs, interviews, recorded shows, audio captions for the visually impaired, etc...)
- Video (video is the richest form of media content as any video could be a combination of the 3 other major media: text, images and audio into one stream of content; as such Video could include movies, live TV broadcasts, webcasts, on-demand streams, narrated animations or talking avatars, but in general it is simply a catchall referred to motion picture optionally combined with Audio or Text)
Meme
Culturally-relevant content repurposed in a variety of different ways, often in a humorous nature. The most common representation of a Meme on the internet is an image with some accompanying caption/sub-title text to describe a humorous situation or quote.
