Worldwide Usage

Japan

Japanese society is renowned for its near-ubiquitous mobile culture[1] and lifestyle, within which the keitai (Japanese term for mobile phone) plays a central role. Keitais are so advanced and complex, that many scholars consider them a product of the Japanese culture's isolation and unique socio-demo, geographical situation; demonstrating a clear Galapagos Syndrome[2].

Canada

Cellphone usage is quite high but smartphone and mobile data usage is low (but currently on the steady rise, especially among the "Teen" and "Business Executive" demographics).
