Thought Leaders

MacLuhan

[5] Marshall MacLuhan[6] famously coined the phrase "the media is the message"[7], and emphasized the fact that the content of a new form of media is typically a remixed or re-purposed version of the old media, but that the media platform it is distributed through changes the way people interact with it. This form of thinking has permeated through much of the media industry and its widespread appeal has either served as a self-fulfilling prophecy, or simply an accurate prediction of what effect technology changes would have on multimedia consumption in the future. It has been particularly apparent in the transition to Web 2.0.
