Payroll is the collection of records of salaries, wages, bonuses, vacation pays and deductions (such as EI, Pension, group insurance, etc...) payed out by a company to its employees in return for their employment (skills, time, energy).


Canada

Canadians pay HST and GST to the Canadian Federal Government, and the rates vary by province. The Canada Revenue Agency is the authority on all payroll issues within Canada.

Deductions

  • CPP is the Canada Pension Plan
  • EI is Employment Insurance



USA

The IRS[1] is the current authority on all payroll issues in the United States of America.
