SWF Object is a JavaScript library, distrubted as a single swfobject-<VERSION>.js file as well as a form of methodology for embedding Flash content within a web page along with subsequent capability detection, in order to add rich media such as audio, video and games to a standard website or page. It gained widespread popularity as it is compatible with many different browsers, OS versions and devices.
